MAINSTREET CHRISTMAS GINGERBREAD CONTEST 2017

The 2nd Annual Holly Jolly Gingerbread Contest, sponsored by Billiam’s Cafe & Catering is December 8th and 9th! All Gingerbread entries will be displayed at Coworking Station during Main Street Christmas Friday and again after the Happy Holly Days Christmas Parade on Saturday. We invite you to enter your own creation as well as vote on your favorites! Proceeds from this event will benefit the Holly Springs Food Cupboard.

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!
We invite the public to come view and vote for their favorite Gingerbread House and enjoy hot chocolate and cookies! The public is welcome and Gingerbread Houses will be on display during the following times:
Friday, December 8th during Main Street Christmas (6pm-8pm)
Saturday, December 9th from 11am – 1pm

Gingerbread House Contest Details:

Who: The Gingerbread House Contest is open to both KIDS and ADULTS!
How: You must fill out an entry form here to sign up (space is limited, so don’t wait). There is NO entry fee.
When: Gingerbread houses will be on display on Friday evening, December 8th (during Main Street Christmas) 6pm – 8pm and Saturday, December 9th after the Christmas Parade.

Contest Information

JUDGING CRITERIA:

There will be ribbons awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners!
The public will vote on their favorite gingerbread houses during the times above.  Winners will be announced on Saturday, December 9th, 2017, and will be posted on our Facebook page.

PRODUCTION CHECKLIST:

  1. Entries must not exceed 18 inches in width, or 18 inches in depth, including the board used as a base. We suggest using ½” or ¾” plywood as a base for your entry.
  2. Entries must be made primarily of gingerbread and entirely of edible products (except for the base).
  3. No artificial display materials, such as Styrofoam or interior lighting, are to be used in the construction of the house.

DROPPING OFF YOUR ENTRY:
Entries will be accepted Friday, December 8th, between 12:00p.m. and 4:00 p.m at the Coworking Station, 104 W. Ballentine

PICKING UP YOUR ENTRY:
Entries may be picked up Monday, December 11th between 9a.m. and 4p.m.
If not picked up, all entries will be discarded Monday, December 11th at 4p.m.
